Nintendo of Europe Confirms May 22nd Platinum Release
The wait for an official European release date for Pokémon Platinum finally ended today, as Nintendo of Europe has confirmed the May 22nd date posted at Pokemon-France.com earlier this month.
This news will be especially welcome, as it will also put to rest the confusion caused a few days ago, when British entertainment store HMV gave the title the much later date of July 31st – thankfully, Nintendo has confirmed that UK gamers will be able to experience the new features abundant in Platinum – including the Distortion World and the return of the Battle Frontier – at the same time as mainland Europe.
Seeming to be on a roll with breaking news, Pokemon-France.com are also running an article suggesting that French pre-orders of the game may also merit the same Giratina figure being given to those pre-ordering in North America – the article confirms nothing for definite as yet, merely suggesting that “a similar operation will be put in place” to bring the bonus to Europe – but, of course, they’ve been right with their news before…
The full press release from Nintendo can be found on the link provided below and features an in-depth list of the new features that will be headed for Europe in just a few short months time.

I think it would be cool if the people in the UK could get the same figurine. Me and Martham could play with ours in video chat over Skype. ^-^
I hope you guys get the figure for pre-ordering. It’s only fair.
Heh. That’s not TOO bad from our release date. Only two months.
I’m happy with May 22nd. It could have been a lot worse.
I dont know if they will get the same figure we will see
Ah, well Europeans seem to get the short end of the stick, gaming wise.
I feel for everybody in Europe as you guys are treated as lower than the US…it’s not fair!
