Introducing, PokeWalker
Nintendo has announced a new device that will come along with Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Named the “PokéWalker,” the device is reminiscent of the Pokémon Pikachu virtual pets.
Like the older devices, the PokéWalker has a built in pedometer that counts your steps. Steps will transfer into experience points and happiness for a Pokémon of your choice, which you will be able to upload from your HG/SS cartridge. Mini games are said to be included as well. Also like its predecessors, there will be a currency called “Watts” which you will be able to spend on items and other mystery gifts which will be transferable back to the DS cartridge.
Rather than being shaped like a mini Game Boy, it will look like a PokéBall. It has a three button design and a grayscale screen, approximately .7 inches tall by 1 inch wide. The diameter of the device is about 1.8 inches and the thickness is approximately .5 inches.

When I first saw this, I wanted it so bad. I am a little sceptical about whether or not it will come state-side.

I remember these things. I had one when I was like…6. Except, it didn’t give exp/happiness to your pokemon.

I’d carry it with me EVERYWHERE. I hate how I have to go train because a gym leader is too tough for me.
So does it come with the games?

Questions for later reference: ok so this will come with a pre order / pickup of HG/SS right? or is it not free. Will it be compatible with all DS’s DS, DS Light DSi.
This seems kind of cool. An interesting product to add in with the remakes. Although I would of liked some Lugia and Ho-oh figures…
That is crazy! Oh well at least the pokemon games are finally encouraging kids to get off their lazy butts and go on a walk.

This is going to be great. Especially since it’s small ( for Bobby reasons).. The only problem will be people who shake it 24/7 instead on actuall walking
I like the idea, although it does pose some Bobby issues, It’s kinda like they gave away the wireless adapters with FR/LG, although It may not come out in the States so we over the pond in England have small hopes…
oh yeah. gonna get 2. on for me and one for my son. that way i can train up 2 pokemon!!! lol
Maybe it’ll come w/ the pre-order? I have a feeling i’d just end up shaking it to get quick exp. tho…
They better port this with the NA versions of HG and SS.
ooh, this looks kinda like a mini Poketch. Now I wonder if HG/SS will have the same feature in the actual game..
