Pokémon has made the record books again, and this time it has nothing to do with PikaBelleChu.
The highly anticipated 12th Pokémon movie, roughly translated as Arceus: To The Conquering of Space-Time, set a record for being the most pre-sold animated movie ever. The film sold an amazing 2,384,198 pre-ordered tickets before its July 18th opening in Japan.
This is a significant turnaround for the movie series, as ticket sales have been on a steady downward trend ever since the Pokémon: The First Movie.

In my first article, I wrote about the top 10 cards in the first three TCG sets. My intention was to write my second article about the new Platinum TCG expansion around the time Pokémon Platinum came out, but unfortunately, school kept me from finishing this article in time (such is university life). But the recent announcement of the Gold and Silver remakes, HeartGold and SoulSilver, has given me a new idea – talking about the top 10 cards in the Generation II-based TCG sets, or the “Neo” sets. So here we go.
10. Holo Blissey (Neo Revelation)
Aside from the cute art, this card is useful because of the massive healing power of this Blissey’s Softboiled Pokémon Power (either 8 or 4 damage counters removed) and because of the possibility of paralysis from its one attack (Body Slam). The only problem is that both are dependent on coin flips, although with Softboiled you get healed either way. All four Neo sets are ridiculously reliant on coin-flipping, though, so this comes as no surprise. more…

Hello, Tribunites! My name’s Reigning Dragoness (or RD, if you please), and I’ll be hosting this series counting down to the release of Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver versions. Well, I would be counting the days if there were an official release date for the games in any country aside from Japan. But, since there aren’t, I will be relying on the good old Japanese release date of September 12th, 2009 for now. That means you guys get a few months of fun-filled information designed specifically to get you psyched for when the games do come out in the PAL regions and North America. At the same time we hope to debunk some of those nasty rumors and ideas you guys have been circulating about the games. Naughty, naughty!
So, let’s kick things off with the obvious: HeartGold and SoulSilver versions are the highly-anticipated remakes of the Second Generation games: Gold, Silver and Crystal versions. This means that we will be adventuring in the Johto region for most of the story, kicking back with Professor Elm and thwarting Team Rocket’s various villainous acts (most of which involve cutting the tails off of Slowpoke and trying to convince you to buy them for prices that make absolutely no sense). more…
