Breaking from tradition, the Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Black and White Versions will each get a sequel. Few details are known at this point except for a June 2012 release date for Japan. The US site was more vague, only saying “Coming Soon.”
The mascots for the new games appear to be fusions of Zekrom + Kyurem and Reshiram and + Kyurem, but nothing about the new forms was confirmed.
The US Pokémon site also revealed that the new games will not take advantage of the 3DS’s glasses-free 3-D capabilities. From Pokemon.com:
Pokémon fans, get excited for two incredible new adventures! Announcing Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2, coming soon for the Nintendo DS™ family of systems. The games can also be played in 2D on the Nintendo 3DS™ system.

On the bright side, there have been rumors of special features for DSi and 3DS owners.

The latest CoroCoro officially revealed the first generation 5 pokémon. Zoroark (left) and its pre-evolution Zoroa (right) are dark type. The 13th movie title, originally “The Ruler of Illusion: Z” has been updated to include the newly announced pokémon, to “The Ruler of Illusion: Zoroark.” More information is set to be unveiled in the next issue of CoroCoro, if not sooner on the Pokémon Sunday television program.
