The wait for an official European release date for Pokémon Platinum finally ended today, as Nintendo of Europe has confirmed the May 22nd date posted at Pokemon-France.com earlier this month.
This news will be especially welcome, as it will also put to rest the confusion caused a few days ago, when British entertainment store HMV gave the title the much later date of July 31st – thankfully, Nintendo has confirmed that UK gamers will be able to experience the new features abundant in Platinum – including the Distortion World and the return of the Battle Frontier – at the same time as mainland Europe.
Seeming to be on a roll with breaking news, Pokemon-France.com are also running an article suggesting that French pre-orders of the game may also merit the same Giratina figure being given to those pre-ordering in North America – the article confirms nothing for definite as yet, merely suggesting that “a similar operation will be put in place” to bring the bonus to Europe – but, of course, they’ve been right with their news before…
The full press release from Nintendo can be found on the link provided below and features an in-depth list of the new features that will be headed for Europe in just a few short months time.
