It’s been about a 10 months since Nintendo made an event pokémon available to the American public, and it seems like Shaymin is well on the horizon. If you visit www.pokemon.com , you will be treated to a bright silhouette of the Sky Warrior himself, though he is nothing more than a blur.
This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to the most apt of Trainers, though. Pokemon.com had performed similar events before the North American release of Manaphy in 2006 (in the form of an egg), and the North American release of Darkrai in 2007 (in the form of a shadow).
Of course, considering the past history of the Pokémon site, this silhouette probably indicates that Shaymin will soon be made available in North America in correspondence with the release of the new movie: Giratina and the Sky Warrior.
Unfortunately, no dates were officially released.

With U.S. fans having just seen Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai, Japan is gearing up for the eleventh Pokémon movie, Giratina and the Sky’s Bouquet: Shaymin, which hits Japanese theaters July 19.
Japanese magazines Coro Coro Comics and Famitsu have revealed certain information on the upcoming movie. It is the first Pokémon movie to be a sequel from another film and feature Pokémon from a previous film as Dialga and Palkia from The Rise of Darkrai will return. The Pokémon movie features the anime debut of ghost/dragon type pokémon, Giratina and the currently unattainable grass hedgehog Shaymin. The movie will explain the origins of these legendary pokémon. Another legendary pokémon, Regigigas, will also make its anime debut in this movie.
More of the movie’s official website has been revealed regarding a new a form of Giratina that is not available in the game. This type is different in size and shape and is explained in the magazine as its “origin” form. Dialga and Palkia are pokémon of time and space, and this could perhaps be a form of Giratina when it travels between dimensions. For now, what is on the Japanese movie website is all that has been revealed at this time. Will Giratina have a special purpose in the movie along with Shaymin? Do Giratina and Shaymin have a connection? These questions will have to wait until this summer in Japan. Don’t expect to see this movie in the U.S. until sometime in 2009.
We here at The Pokémon Times will bring you more updates on this movie as it develops. As Japan gears up for this upcoming theatrical release, fans can only anticipate the DVD release of Pokémon: The Rise of Darkai, which hits shelves May 27.
