Pokémon has made the record books again, and this time it has nothing to do with PikaBelleChu.
The highly anticipated 12th Pokémon movie, roughly translated as Arceus: To The Conquering of Space-Time, set a record for being the most pre-sold animated movie ever. The film sold an amazing 2,384,198 pre-ordered tickets before its July 18th opening in Japan.
This is a significant turnaround for the movie series, as ticket sales have been on a steady downward trend ever since the Pokémon: The First Movie.

Amazon.com has recently posted a release date for the DVD of the new Pokémon Movie: Giratina and the Sky Warrior. According to their site, the DVD will be released on March 31st, 2009, approximately 9 days after the release of Pokémon Platinum and 4 days before the rumored release of the Nintendo DSi! The end of March will surely be filled with tons of Pokémon craziness!
Amazon will be selling the DVD for $13.99.

Kunihiko Yuyama, director for the Pokémon movies, was featured in a trailer for the 12th movie this week, stating that the new movie’s title will be revealed on December 13th, according to a post on PokeBeach.
Another mystery he promised to reveal is a small, yellow, electric Pokemon that would save the world. The trailer shows Pikachu standing along side this mystery pokémon, but it is blocked by a large “?”. PokeBeach speculates that this may be a baby pokémon from the 5th generation, which would be in keeping with the tradition of revealing one such pokémon in a movie prior to the launch of that generation of games. more…
